Frequently Asked Questions

How do markets resolve?

Each market includes a resolution criterion and oracle policy. At close, we perform a reproducible LLM evaluation with pinned prompts and a pinned model version or frozen provider alias. Inputs and outputs (and evidence, when applicable) are recorded and visible in the UI.

What if the provider is down?

We retry and fall back per a published policy with explicit timeouts. If resolution cannot be completed as specified, the market is marked INVALID with rationale.

Who can use Latent Markets?

We require users to be of legal age and may restrict sign‑ups or trading in certain jurisdictions for regulatory or operational reasons.

What are the fees?

See Fees for the current maker/taker schedule and information on settlement/oracle costs and listing fees.

Can I exit before resolution?

Yes. During continuous trading (OPEN) you can sell your outcome shares back to the AMM at the current price. Execution is subject to fees and slippage (price movement from order size). Trading is batched during AUCTION, may be paused in a dispute window (CHALLENGED), and ends at RESOLVED where only redemptions are available.

Do you escrow every bet?

No. We use a pooled‑collateral AMM (LMSR). When you buy, funds add to the pool and you receive shares. The pool is sized to guarantee payouts, rather than locking each trade in an individual escrow. We still reserve funds for specific flows like auctions, withdrawals, or disputes.

How are winners paid?

After resolution, winning shares redeem for the quoted currency (e.g., pUSDC). Losing shares have no value. If a market is INVALID, we refund participant spend. Any settlement fee (if applicable) is described on the Fees page.

Can I create markets?

Creation may be limited and subject to a listing fee or posting bond to discourage spam. Requirements appear in the creation flow.

How are disputes handled?

After a preliminary resolution, there is a dispute window. Cases are adjudicated under published rules, and final rationales are posted.
